Engraving away

Week three in Bild Werk Frauenau. I was optimistic thinking that the blog would be updated every day. Well, no chance for that. The students come here with the firm intention to work day, night, weekends, in all weathers, etc. as soon as I come in the morning there is one of them in the studio already working away.

It took some time for some of them to get use to work with so much detail, in such a small dimension. Mark makes windows for cathedrals, for example, and Gretel has done woodcut... I am learning from them the differences and challenges of engraving.

Still, their projects are sprouting around like weeds. There is no more room on the walls to hang them all and it's gonna be difficult to curate the final exhibition.
